Vivo Nex 3 5G Unboxing: Here is the official retail version of the Vivo NEX 3 5G.
One of the first unboxing of the official retail version, in the world.
So a thumbs up for that would be appreciated.
And a big thanks to Vivo for getting this to me super, super early, and partnering with me for this video.
Let’s go ahead and get this unboxed.
Now at the top of the box, we’ve got the NEX logo and then we’ve got a bit of a preview of the very unique camera module which we’ll be checking out.
Let’s open this up. Nice and fancy.
Now we’re gonna put the device at the side for just a second while we see what else we get inside.
So firstly we do have a 44 watt Vivo Super FlashCharger, and this is going to get you some very quick top-ups on the Vivo NEX 3.
It’s one of the fastest charging methods available right now.
There is a USB type A to a USB type C cable.
There are some 3.5 mm earphones, some paperwork, as well as a SIM card tool.
Now let’s get to the device.
We can just slide it out of here from the plastic.
Now the first thing you’ll notice is what Vivo calls a Waterfall Full View Display.
Why is this called a waterfall display?
You’ve got an 85-degree curvature on either side.
That’s the most curvature I’ve seen on any smartphone.
The display just kind of just falls over onto the sides.
And when you are viewing this from the front, thanks to the curvature, you see pretty much no bezel on the left and right, and we’ve got a top and bottom strip, giving this one of the highest screen-to-body ratios on any smartphone right now.
This is an OLA display with HD R10 supports and it’s got a full HD plus resolution.
Now the display size is 6.89 inches, but it doesn’t actually feel too big because of that very high screen-to-body ratio as well as that curvature.
Now you still get some additional features thanks to this curvature.
So for example, if you get a call, if you are playing some music, then you’re gonna see some animations here along the sides.
Now we’ve also got a pre-applied screen protector here at the front and there is also a protector at the back to protect that backglass and you’ve got a really cool effect here.
Ans the back also curves in to make this more comfortable to hold.
And we’ve got a very unique-looking Luna ring camera arrangement.
This is a circular system here in the middle with three cameras.
We’ve got a primary 64-megapixel camera.
I’m pretty sure that is the highest resolution on any smartphone right now.
And you’ve also got a pretty large sensor size.
It’s around 1/1.7 inches.
This has an F1.8 aperture.
As well as that you do get a telephoto camera which is 13 megapixels with an F2.2 aperture as well as an ultra wide camera to get lots more into your shots.
This is also 13 megapixels with around an F2.4 aperture.
And it’s also going to allow you to get super macro shots.
So if you want to get in very, very close to certain subjects you are going to be able to do that with this camera system.
The Vivo NEX 3 also has a portrait mode as well as manual controls.
So you’ll be able to save in raw format and really get the most of this massive 64-megapixel camera.
Now if you take a look around the Vivo NEX 3 you’ll see that Vivo has gone for a very minimal look.
And the only actual button that we’ve got, the physical button, is here at the top which we can press to one of the displays.
But then we’ve got some X-axis haptic buttons here on the right-hand side.
There’s the stand-by button and then we’ve got volume buttons on the top and bottom.
So these don’t actually push in but when you do press them you get some haptic feedback which makes it feel like a button.
And from what I can see it does seem to work really well.
Also in the top is a 3.5mm jack which is something we really do not see much of these days.
Then we’ve got a camera module.
Now, this is an elevating camera module so it’s gonna pop up whenever you activate the front-facing camera.
You can see that here.
This has a 16-megapixel resolution.
On the left-hand side, we don’t actually have anything.
And on the bottom, we’ve got a USB type C input.
We then have a single bottom-firing speaker as well as the SIM card tray.
Now, this does have support for two SIM cards so you can have them both active at the same time.
Now we’ve also got an in-display fingerprint scanner which seems to work absolutely fine.
Now we have to talk about the internals of the Vivo NEX 3 5G because it’s definitely packing a punch.
We’ve got the latest and greatest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset.
That’s the most powerful chipset you’re going to be able to get on an Android smartphone right now.
And you can get up to 12GB of RAM with 256GB of storage.
So that going to be plenty of storage and plenty of RAM.
And with that amount of RAM as well as the 855 Plus gaming on here is going to be super, super, smooth.
But also multitasking.
If you’ve got lots of apps open at the same time then that’s not going to be a problem here with the Vivo NEX 3.
There is also a vapor chamber cooling system so if you are going to be having lots of long gaming sessions then that’s going to help keep this nice and cool.
Now, as well as the 855 Plus you do have the X50 modem and that’s gonna enable 5G.
5G is now rolling out and if you are in an area where 5G is supported then with the Vivo NEX 3 you’re going to be able to utilize those ultra-high download speeds as well as that very low latency.
The Vivo NEX 3 also has support for Dual Wireless LAN.
What does that mean?
Well, it means you can use 2 WiFi signal networks at the same time to boost your network speed.
Now, this is something that’s not available on many other devices so it’s nice that Vivo has thought about this.
And well as that you get the AK43 77A independent audio chips set to improve your audio experience here too.
Now for the battery, you do have a very large 4500mh battery along with that 44 watts Vivo Super FlashCharger which is going to top this up very, very quickly.
And you also have the C-DRX power-saving technology.
And that’s going to optimize everything to get the most out of your battery life.
And finally, for the operating system, you do have Android version 9.0 with the Funtouch UI built in.
Now pricing and availability I don’t have that information as yet.
As soon as I have any information I’ll be leaving some links in the description below so do look out for that.
